Chain Tactics was designed to have all back-end processes run onchain, while obfuscating as much of these interactions as possible from the user. This means that in its current state, players don’t need to do anything else other than download the game, and click “Find Match”. Wallets will eventually be integrated in place of a traditional account system in order for users to track their stats and progress (i.e. wins vs losses and matches played).
Below are the default rules of the game. Future plans will allow players to modify these rules as they see fit.
The game takes place on a 9x9 grid.
The game is divided into the Preparation Phase (subset into the Buy and Spawn phases), and the Battle Phase.
Players take turns moving their pieces and attacking. First player to destroy their opponent’s Fortress wins.
The Preparation Phase is further divided into the Buy and Spawn Phases. During the Buy Phase, players start with 10 gold. They can freely select which combination of units they wish to utilize as long as they stay within their gold budget. Players have 90 seconds to select which pieces they wish to bring to battle.
Once committed from the Buy Phase, Preparation proceed to the Spawn Phase, where players place their pieces on any space within the first two rows of the board (towards them). This lasts for 90 seconds as well. If a player fails to click “Reveal” during the Spawn Phase, the player forfeits the match (until both sides Reveal their pieces, it is obfuscated from the opponent’s view.
